Again this July, 2010, Fresno REALTORS, Ken and Carol Maul were in Alaska for Carol's
niece's wedding.     Then Carol's brother, Myron, flew 17 up to his cabin in Wood Tikchik
State Park for a few days.     Wood Tikchik is the largest state park in the nation (over 1 million
acres), and Myron and Suzanne own the only single family cabin on this particular large lake.
Our only neighbors were moose and bears!!

As you look through these photos, please note that every single item on the property had to be
flown in.   The cabin was constructed over three summers by construction workers who lived on
the property for the few months that the ice and snow were off the lake.   See the photo blog of
our 2008 trip to Alaska to see pictures of a plane being loaded to take up supplies.

Carol's sister, her husband and son from Bemidji, Minnesota were also in Alaska.

It was an incredible trip!!

Back yard of Carol's niece's home in Bethel, AK -- on the banks of the Kuskokwim River.

Ken cleaning radishes and cucumbers that a local grower dropped
by Carol's brother's home.  Notice the size of
everything!!   Many hours of daylight produce nice vegetables!!

Friday night was a salmon feed at Myron and Suzanne's home.   Myron
has the Old Friendly Dog Farm where he raises dogs for dog sled racing.
Here the handler,Casey, is preparing the dogs to give rides to the guests.

Several friends of Myron and Suzanne's prepared a pre-wedding brunch for
out-of-towners on Saturday morning.

Decorating a metal shed for the Fiesta reception.   Many friends from the village spent
a couple of weeks transforming a vacant shop into a party hall.

Ken and Carol, along with family members and friends, arranged all
of the Gerbera Daisys for the Fiesta.

It rained for the wedding on the banks of the Kuskokwim River!!   Here is the
bride, Sarah, walking down a black plastic carpet!!

A first!!   Carol attended the wedding in a poncho and tennis shoes!!
The best line of the wedding was Ben's brother welcoming everyone to
"Woodstock on the Kuskokwim!!"

Sarah and Ben and their families

We took up a box of avocados that resulted in this wonderful guacamole!

The Hummer Limo that was available all night to take tours of Bethel and to get a
ride home for all of the out of towners who walked between venues.

People in the village brought Mexican salads and casseroles to add to the tacos
and tamales that were provided.   Really great food -- and lots of it!!

Large crowd!

Bethel has a 4th of July parade, and Myron's sled dogs were a great attraction.

Two float planes getting ready to load up and transport 17 (in 5 planes) to
Myron and Suzanne's cabin in Wood Tikchik State Park, the
largest state park in the nation (over 1 million acres).
